Through Amma’s institutions and vision, these barriers are being dissolved by offering high-quality education to all, irrespective of economic status, gender, or race. With an emphasis not only on academic excellence but also on the nourishment of well-being and human values, Amma's institutions lay the foundation for a truly fulfilling future.
Why Education Matters
India has a significant child population, yet many face barriers to quality education. Alarming statistics reveal that two-thirds of those who start school in Year 1 won’t reach Year 8. Around 50 million primary-age children struggle to meet grade-level standards due to inadequate schooling conditions. The barriers to accessing quality education are especially prevalent in conflict-prone or rural areas, and they disproportionately affect females.
A major issue in India’s education system is the high student-teacher ratio, with classrooms overcrowded and lacking adequate resources. In some cases, one teacher is responsible for as many as 100 students.
The remedy lies in promoting and enhancing access to quality education for all children. Sri Sakthi Amma has initiated various educational programs that offer life-changing opportunities for local children. These programs emphasize holistic education, incorporating well-being practices alongside academics to nurture healthy, fulfilling lives and provide an opportunity to choose a brighter future.
Remarkably, 70% of students attending Sri Narayani Vidyalaya school are the first in their families to attain literacy. The success of these educational initiatives is evident in the fact that every graduate pursues further education, profoundly impacting their future and that of their families. Education unlocks financial opportunities, breaking intergenerational poverty cycles.

Sri Narayani Vidyalaya
Sri Narayani Vidyalaya, an English medium school with a state curriculum, renders quality holistic education to over 1,000 rural children from KG to Grade 12. It is a growing institution with over 50 full-time qualified teachers and trained staff who teach academics and spirituality, nurturing students to lead prosperous and harmonious lives. Students are encouraged to express their talents in arts, music, and dance, creating a platform to further their interests and evolve as professionals. They are also taught the benefits of "paying it forward" as an act of service to their community, fostering a humanitarian viewpoint.
Vidyanethram
Education Scholarships Vidya Nethram lends a helping hand to students from local rural communities to further their educational journey. Annually, 1,000 local students from low-income families are given tertiary-level education scholarships. On completing their studies and entering the workforce, these graduates are encouraged to ‘pay it forward’ by pledging to support a student’s education—a beautiful tradition of gratitude that inspires others to do the same. These scholarship programs aim to provide essential support and resources, motivating children to pursue education. Each year, thousands of students benefit from the distribution of notebooks and stationery items, a significant initiative. Moreover, our efforts extend to tribal communities, ensuring access to education in remote areas. Additionally, deserving students aspiring to pursue careers in civil services such as IAS, IPS, and IRS receive high-level coaching and support.
Breakfast Fundraiser
To ensure all children have adequate nourishment, daily breakfast is provided to all students, consisting of nourishing high-fiber and protein multigrain morning porridge. This initiative ensures that every child starts their day with the vital nutrients they need to thrive academically and lead healthy lives. Proper nutrition is crucial for children’s growth and development, especially during their formative years.
Sri Narayani College of Nursing
Sri Narayani College of Nursing was established in 2006 as an educational platform for women from low economic backgrounds. The college offers bachelor's and master's degrees and diploma courses in midwifery. Sri Narayani College of Nursing is affiliated with Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

Scholarship Program
Annually, numerous students spanning various age groups are granted scholarships and financial aid to support their educational pursuits. A significant number of these recipients, upon completing their studies, express their gratitude by dedicating themselves to utilizing their education for the betterment of society. The cycle continues as many former beneficiaries, having successfully navigated their educational journeys, are motivated to extend a helping hand to other students facing similar challenges to those they once overcame.
