Narayani Peedam
Peace, Strength, Energy
Sri Narayani Peedam, the spiritual foundation created by Sri Sakthi Amma, serves as the central hub for spiritual and selfless service activities. At Peedam, daily rituals, conducted in accordance with Vedic scriptures, are a sacred practice. The premises include the Sri Narayani Temple, Swayambu Temple (the first temple), Putthu (sacred hill), Shanti Mandapam (Hall of Peace), Yagur Sala (Full Moon Hall), Gho Sala (Home for Cows), as well as administrative offices.
"Peedam," in Tamil (or "Peetha" in Sanskrit), denotes a place of worship or throne. Sri Narayani Peedam refers to the ‘seat’ of Goddess Narayani, considered the mother Goddess who birthed the universe. From this sacred site, steeped in the history of revered sages and the presence of Goddess Narayani, it is believed that the entire universe is cared for.
While cultures and traditions differ, the purpose of all temples is the same: to bring peace, strength, and energy to us all.
—Sri Sakthi Amma

Purpose of Pooja
The ultimate purpose of pooja is to facilitate a connection with the soul through offerings of love. Offerings of love bring peace and joy, opening people's hearts to follow a dharmic path. On a larger scale, the prayers and rituals conducted by Sri Sakthi Amma are for universal peace and well-being.
Sponsoring pooja at the temples is a practical way to create peace for the world and in one's life, earn merit for oneself and one's community, and make a spiritual offering with a powerful sankalpa (intention). Your contribution helps support the costs of the physical offerings in the form of food, herbs, flowers, and the like. The priests facilitate the ceremonies on your and your loved ones' behalf. Whether you want to fortify specific prayers or support new moon or full moon rituals and particular festivals, the opportunities are auspicious and manifold.
For those who already have their own devotional path, beholding these rituals may encourage and inspire them to go deeper within their personal faith and practice.

Putthu ( Sacred Anthill)
The Putthu a the sacred anthill, holds significance across India. It's seen as a symbol of the village goddess and is considered a Divine observer of all events. Temples are often built near these anthills. When Amma was 16, she started living near this very Putthu, offering daily poojas. Sri Narayani Peedam was later built around this anthill. Today, many people visit to offer prayers, light lamps, and express their devotion.

Shanti Mandapam: Hall of Peace
Shanti Mandapam (Hall of Peace) is the heart of Sri Narayani Peedam. This unique hall accommodates hundreds of devotees and is adorned with intricately crafted hand-painted murals and statues of the deities, facilitating an environment for deep contemplation and meditation. Every day, people of all walks of life witness poojas (rituals) performed on Sri Mangala Narayani and receive theertham (holy water) from Sri Sakthi Amma.
